Latest News-
New EU F-Gas regulations to tighten the buying and selling of R134a refrigerant have come into effect from the start of January 2015.

Autocooling Ltd are a City & Guilds approved centre, we can offer a full suite of MAC qualifications and tailor a package to meet your requirements.

As of the 4th July 2010 by law, all technicians that “Recover” refrigerant from motor vehicles must hold a minimum refrigerant handling qualification (C&G 7543-001 Refrigerant Handling) as per EC Regulation 842/2006.

EC Reg: 842/2006 has now been superseded by The 2014 EU F-Gas Regulation (EC Reg: 517/2014) Regulation 517/2014 aims to control and tighten supply of HFC’s to companies that have qualified staff.

The changes are designed to improve compliance with FGAS rules. This requires workshops buying Refrigerants to have qualified technicians.

We can provide a simple “one stop – cost effective” solution for FGAS compliance.

Training offered-
• On-site equipment operator training
• On-site FGAS assessments (C&G 7543-001 Refrigerant Handling)

As well as on-site we can provide further training in our modern facilities at our head office-
• C&G 7543-02 Testing & Servicing.
Course content covers more in depth knowledge of aircon systems, components, state & condition, electrical system, environmental impacts, regulation & legislation, equipment and service procedures.

FGAS QUALIFICATION................HAVE YOU GOT YOURS?

As of July 2010 by law, all technicians that "Recover" refrigerant from motor vehicles must hold a Refrigerant Handling Qualification as per EC Regulation 842/2006.
The 2014 EU F-Gas Regulation (517/2014) aims to control and tighten supply of HFC's to companies that have qualified staff.

The changes are designed to improve compliance with F-Gas rules. These have required workshops buying Refrigerants to have F-Gas qualified Technicians since July 2010. It’s suggested up to 50% have simply ignored the requirement, but this looks set to become more difficult.

The changes have implications for garage owners, workshop technicians – and primarily those supplying  refrigerant. The EU, working through the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA), have placed extra new responsibility on the seller to ensure F-Gas handling qualifications are in place.

Where the F-Gas Regulation 2006 MAC Directive (40/2006) placed legal responsibility only with the buyer, the 2014 EU F-Gas Regulation (517/2014), uses the phrase “sold to and purchased by”.
So, those supplying garages will have to change the way they operate, and keep refrigerant sales records from 1st January. It’s also mandatory to verify workshops buying Refrigerants to have F-Gas qualified Technicians.  https://www.gov.uk/f-gas-wholesalers-record-keeping-requirements
